19 YEARS AGO THIS WEEK

19 years ago this week, ProjeKct Two released Space Groove. The first post-THRAK release as part of the fractalisation of King Crimson, the double album recorded at Adrian Belew’s studio over three days in November 1997. It featured hot-take, fly-on-the-wall instrumental music by Fripp, Gunn and Belew. With Belew playing V-drums only throughout the two discs, Space Groove heralded an essentially improvisational approach to the development of new material for King Crimson, ultimately paving the way for The ConstruKction Of Light.

On this date 19 years ago ProjeKct Two began a Japanese tour in Nagoya, sharing the bill with BLUE - Bruford Levin Upper Extremities, an unofficial fractal of sorts consisting of Bill Bruford, Tony Levin, guitarist David Torn and Chris Botti on trumpet.  The P2 portion of that gig is available to download.
